Research Assistant and Deputy of Chair for Remote Sensing Technology at the TUM
Field of work:
Research interests include various aspects of computer vision, image analysis and remote sensing. In particular method development for image segmentation and object extraction (e.g. roads, trees, biological cells), integration of multi-sensor imagery and update and quality control of geodata.
Biography:
He graduated from the Leibniz Universität Hannover with a Dipl.-Ing. (Univ.) degree in Geodesy and Geoinformatics. He received the Dr.-Ing. degree for his PhD-thesis "Network Snakes", a new computer vision method based on active contour models introducing network topology.From August 2002 to August 2007 he was a scientific collaborator at the Institute of Photogrammetry and GeoInformation of the Leibniz Universität Hannover. Since September 2007 he has held the position of research assistant at the Remote Sensing Technology department of the Technische Universität München.
