biography:
From 1981-1986 Dr. Doicu studied Mechanical Engineering (Fine Mechanics, Optics) at the university Politechnika in Bucharest, Romanina.
From 1993-1994 he studied Mechanical Process Engineering and Fluid Mechanics at University Kaiserslautern, Germany.
In 1996 he received his PhD for a thesis on modern methods for measuring velocities using Laser beams.
Between 1986 and 1996 he worked as engineer at the institute for Research Instruments and as scientific assistant in the department of Fine Machanics and Optics of Politechnika Bucharest. From 1996-2000 he was scientist at the institute for Process Engineering of University Bremen, Germany and in 2001 he joined DLR.
Dr. Doicu is author of more than 50 papers in scientific journals and 3 books.
