field of work:
Research interests lie in the GNSS receiver technology. He began by working on the problem of car navigation and location systems in urban environments. This work led him into estimation theory, Kalman filtering technique, multi-sensor data fusion for missile tracking, precise positioning with GPS including integer ambiguity resolution and attitude determination. He designed, implemented, and tested the software module of software GPS receiver and GPS signal simulator in his doctorial thesis. His current research interests are in software GNSS receivers/simulators, GNSS/INS coupling systems, and user terminal design and analysis in the European GNSS Evolution Programme.
biography:
Dr. Won studied control engineering at Ajou University, S. Korea (PhD). In 2004 he worked with Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) on the high accuracy nationwide DGPS in Korea. Since August 2005 he has worked with the Institute of Geodesy and Navigation, University FAF Munich, Germany. He has worked as a project engineer in many industrial/governmental funded research projects since 1995, and published more than 60 technical papers in the fields of GNSS receiver, navigation, and target tracking systems.
