Mathematics, statistics, signal processing, physics, system science, MATLAB

objectives  
  •  to deal with mathemtaical problems such as the solution of partial differential equations (PDEs)
  • to understand how physica/mathematical problems can be solved by numerical methods
  • to solve physical/mathemtical problems by applying MATLAB routines
  • to get a feeling for the accuracy of the solution and the error budget
  • to handle measurements appropriately

5. Finite difference methods

6. Solutions of 1-D differential equations

7. Time integration procedures

8. Partial differential equations

Full time lecture. The course includes exercises with MATLAB and student presentations. In order to complete the course, students must pass a written exam at the end of the semester
