Spacecraft Attitude and Orbit Control

(ECTS: 3; SWS: 2)

prerequisites   --
objectives   At the end of the module the students will be able to understand the principles of spacecraft flight dynamics including determination and control of orbit and attitude. They will be able to analyze basic properties of orbit and attitude systems and apply the basic principles for determination and control. The students will have learned how spacecrafts' trajectories and orientation are operated.
contents

Orbit Determination, including measurements, modeling, state transition matrix, parameter estimation

Orbit Control, including Earth orbit, interplanetary flights and Lagrange points

Attitude Determination, including the deterministic method, q-method and sensors

Attitude Control, including AOCS algorithms and actuators

Examples and applications from actual space missions
