We asked some of our ESPACE Alumni (graduated students) the question: What did your experiences as an ESPACE student bring you?

"As an ESPACE Student, I acquired much applied knowledge of navigation and all kinds of applications in traffic, railway, marine, aviation, and so on. The practice of information technology and the SAR satellite design project have been especially useful for my current job in project management."

--Weizu Zhao, Project Manager, CTITC Research, China Transportation and Telecommunication Center, the Ministry of Communication of the P.R.C.

"A very extraordinary thing about ESPACE is that the program's content is not somehow historically based. A good portion of the lecturers come from experts from research institutes, other universities, and companies. It appears to have been a thoroughly thought out program with regard to which fields of expertise would be necessary, with all the experts from these necessary fields coming to lecture for the program!"

--Volker Tesmer,  now working for a ground station for the space company OHB-System

"I got so much knowledge from the ESPACE lecturers, and now I can transfer this knowledge to my students. It is wonderful to take some new atmosphere from ESPACE to my classes. I feel that I am like a bridge passing knowledge."

--YI Weiyong, Institute of Surveying and Mapping, Zhengzhou, China

"ESPACE opened the doors to the fascinating field of space science and technology. During the program I gained not only solid knowledge but also the proper way to learn. The highly competent teaching staff from the fields of research and industry offer the students a good opportunity to experience current technology as well as state of the art research work. The program's nice international atmosphere was also an enjoyable part of my experience...all in all: ESPACE was a excellent experience for me!"

--Xinxing Wang, Scientific Staff, Institute for Astronomical and Physical Geodesy, Technische Universität München

"ESPACE offers you, in a very international environment, the opportunity to learn and what is more important, to understand the relationships and connections between space-oriented measurement-techniques and current scientific applications in different fields. It brought me a better understanding of our planet and an overview of the possibilities that space offers humanity to reach a deeper understanding of it."

--J.L. Bueso, DLR (German Aerospace Center)
